1)  There are so "many ways to volunteer with AYSO". Every hand and every hour that you can donate is appreciated and helps bring more soccer to more kids.
REGION BOARD POSITIONS;  UNIFORMS, FIELDS & EQUIPMENT;  PROGRAM COORDINATORS;  EVENTS POSITIONS;  ADMINISTRATION;  MARKETING, PR, AND COMMUNICATIONS;  TEAM VOLUNTEERS;  COACHING-RELATED

2)  In AYSO, "Due Process" = Notice + Opportunity to be Heard = Fairness. Due Process embodies society’s basic notions of fairness. When participation must be limited, suspended or revoked, it becomes necessary to provide the individual with due process and the right to be heard. Even though due process represents only small percentage of dispute outcomes, it is vital that it be handled properly. The process constitutes an “internal administrative proceeding” pursuant to California administrative law.  AYSO refers to the process as a “review proceeding” in this course.

3) The "National Rules & Regulations" include rules of competition including match durations, substitutions, team sizes and membership, field and ball sizes, and the duties and responsibilities of coaches, referees, officials and team members.

4) The "National Policy Statements" further define AYSO policy on such matters as licensing, trademark usage, player participation, player programs, youth volunteer roles, severe weather, standards of conduct, conflict of interest and dispute resolution.

5)  AYSO is a single non-profit California corporation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code and its "National Bylaws" define the organization’s structure and governance including membership requirements, officers and directors, voting rights and procedures, and amendments.

6) This manual is an easy-to-use source of information regarding the "AYSO National Referee Program". It contains information of use to all AYSO Referee Administrators, Instructors and Assessors.
There are a number of additional publications which address specific aspects of running a referee program. The Regional Referee Administrator Manual is a must-have for all Referee Administrators.

7) These "Standard Regional Policies & Protocols" (P&Ps) have been established as a Governing Document by the National Board of Directors (NBOD). They are designed to inform the Regional Leadership (Regional Commissioner and Regional Board Members) about how an AYSO Region must be administered, and to assure a successful and rewarding experience by our AYSO volunteers, players and families. These Standard Regional Policies & Protocols are abbreviated and referred to as the P&Ps.

8)  "Reference Manual"; The governing documents of the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) provide direction and organization in the operation of AYSO programs everywhere. They are living documents that are periodically changed and updated to reflect new information, changing times and the decisions of the National Board of Directors and executive membership.
